The heart of the EVolve NY program is
- installing up to 400 new EV fast charging stations throughout the state by early 2026
- locating chargers along the state’s major highway corridors, from north to south and from east to west
- positioning chargers often within just a few minutes of the exit
EV charging in New York State’s largest cities will be easier, too. EVolve NY will install fast charging hubs in New York City and the state's other largest cities. NYPA has already partnered with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to install a new 10-port charging station at John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens, the largest public fast-charging station in the Northeast.
And to make EV ownership even more affordable, the state's Drive Clean Rebate offers a rebate of up to $2,000 for new EV purchases or leases.
